Memphis Depay has been a Red Bull athlete since 2022. By introducing his own event, the footballer and Red Bull wanted to give the partnership visibility and impact. For Memphis, it was essential that his main passions of football, friends, music and art, came together in the event. Red Bull asked Players United Brands to come up with the concept and execute the football part.
Solution.
Red Bull Street Rhythm by Memphis Depay is a football event that feels like a big street party. The first edition took place at an urban venue in Rotterdam.
The starting point was the assignment Memphis Depay had for his friends Broederliefde, Winne, Edgar Davids, Akwasi, Jairzinho and Jefferson. They were challenged by the top footballer to put together their best team for a 4 vs 4 tournament. By alternating the football matches with performances by the artists, the audience was able to experience the versatility of Memphis’ passions live. There were also several side events for the visitors such as Shoot like Memphis, photobooth & barber.
Result.
The Submarine Wharf in Rotterdam was completely transformed for the street party. Hundreds of fans of Memphis Depay and his friends experienced an unforgettable day. The football was of a high standard and so were the live performances by the artists.
