KPN Mooiste Contact Diners

Challenge.

The KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds has been working to facilitate projects to reduce the feeling of loneliness in certain eligible groups for over 12 years now. Celebrating Christmas with loved ones and a cozy, delicious dinner is not self-evident for everyone. The KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds has therefore been organizing successful Christmas dinners for hundreds of lonely elderly people at its own head offices for years. But can we also use the power of football to give these elderly people an unforgettable Christmas?

Solution.

The answer was as simple as it was effective: by moving the successful Christmas dinners from the KPN offices to the Eredivisie stadiums! With KPN as the main sponsor of the Eredivisie, the link with the Eredivisie clubs was quickly made.

Result.

A Christmas dinner was organized for a total of 850 elderly people at 17 Eredivisie clubs. The guests included residents of care homes in the region, who were often picked up by the players’ bus from the Eredivisie club for this special Christmas outing. In addition to a delicious dinner, this unforgettable Christmas party consisted of entertainment in the form of a performance, a quiz and Q&A with a club legend such as Willy van de Kerkhof, Kees Kist, Lex Schoenmaker or Foppe de Haan. The Christmas dinners were, partially, made possible by 850 KPN employees who volunteered and sat down for a chat with the guests or dressed up as Santa Claus.
